The "No Theme - No Limits" juried show at the Sprinkler Factory gallery (Worcester Mass) opens tonight. Also a good opportunity to take a look at the ceramics on show and for sale downstairs at the FireWorks. More info at http://www.sprinklerfactory.com/
The opening reception for "No Theme - No Limits" is tomorrow night, Dec 3rd 5.00 to 8.00. I am showing "Time Flows", and will be interested in comments.
Randy LeSage & I had a good conversation about this piece last night.
ReplyDeleteHe mentioned that it felt very figurative, and I agreed, adding that made me think of Dante's Divine Comedy--Purgatorio.
Also makes me think of Pollock and the question I frequently toss around about how much control to (try) to exercise over my medium and process.
This piece is worth seeing in person, and spending some time with.
Keep going!
Joanne
Controlling gravity was critical for the building of this piece. I used three phases of build-up of the material: I built the first and third phases with the substrate vertical, the second with the piece initialy horizontal, but raised it to vertical as it cured.
