Immigrant/Emigrant: The Holes We Leave Behind

15 ½ in x 18 ¼ in x 5 ½ in
Wood, plastic cups, plaster, paint.

Plants growing in the wild, dug up and replanted in pots to better flourish, leave a hole in their natural habitat. Every immigrant is an emigrant. Something is lost as well as gained.

I originally did this for a show at Assumption College on the topic of immigration. It is currently on show in the Lamar Library of UMASS Medical School Campus in Worcester until the end of this week.
